Organizing your files is never a bad idea, and depending on what you’re dealing with, you may be better off using a dedicated tool to help you along. Renaming files to make them easier to get to in the future can improve productivity, but if you’re dealing with many such files, it’s worth considering a bulk renaming utility.

Rename Us for sure has a fitting name, all things considered. It’s a software solution that prioritizes function above all else, providing users with the means to rename any number of files on their own terms.

Selecting the files you wish to rename is the first thing you’ll have to do prior to configuring any parameters. Upon doing so, you’ll be able to start specifying the renaming actions that are suitable for you.

These actions, also referred to as ‘rules’, are more than a few, enabling you to quickly organize your files based on various parameters. You can use enumeration, add prefixes and suffixes, modify text capitalization, and even set custom rules.

Note that you’re not limited to just using a single renaming rule. Instead, users can combine rules to achieve their desired naming schemes: for instance, I was able to add a prefix to my files, then used an enumeration rule to more easily find certain photos I had in a directory.

More advanced users will likely appreciate the built-in Expression builder menu, which lets one set up custom rules with more granularity. A variety of functions, operators, and predefined expressions are available, allowing you to freely combine them to good effect.

Rename Us works well in providing the end user with a functional solution to efficiently rename a series of files in batches. Though it may look a bit daunting to use initially, the program is surprisingly easy to understand once you spend a bit of time with it.
