SendTo MD5 Portable

This is the portable counterpart of SendTo MD5, a simple-to-use piece of software that enables you to calculate the MD5 checksum of any file, regardless of its format. It comes packed with an intuitive set of options that can be easily figured out by all types of users.

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the program files in any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to run.

There is also the possibility to save SendTo MD5 to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any computer with minimum effort and no previous installers.

Worth taking into account is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not receive new entries, so there are no traces left behind after the app's removal.

At startup, SendTo MD5 pops up a file browser so you can indicate a file. As soon as it loads it, you can view its MD5 signature. It is possible to input another checksum to compare the two, as well as to search the computer for the file having that hash.

The tool can be asked to start with the main window expanded and alwyas on top of other frames, hide the file dialog at startup, and to remember the last main window position, among others. You can customize the colors for different and identical checksums, as well as for the same file and checksum color.

The app does not put a strain on computer performance, since it runs on low CPU and RAM. There were no issues throughout our evaluation, as it did not hang, crash or pop up error messages. SendTo MD5 serves its purpose and comes packed with a handy set of options.
