Shortcuts Search And Replace is a tiny and portable software tool that enables users to quickly locate shortcuts to applications and edit their settings. It includes intuitive options that can be configured by all users, regardless of their computer experience.

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the program files in any location on the disk and click the executable to run.

There is also the possibility of saving Shortcuts Search And Replace to a USB flash disk or other removable storage device, in order to run it on any workstation with minimum effort and no previous installers.

What's more, the app does not create new entries in the Start menu or Windows registry, leaving no traces behind after removal.

The GUI is made from a regular window with a plain and simple layout, where all you have to do is enter text string to look for, along with the target location; it can be either a drive or directory. You can enter a secondary string to replace the first one with, include subdirectories, along with the user and common Start menu, and user desktop.

The list of results shows the name, full path and working directory, arguments, icon and description for each item. It is possible to view shortcuts properties, as well as to copy selected or all files to the Clipboard or save them to XML, TXT, HTML or CSV.

Shortcuts Search And Replace is capable of searching only for dead shortcuts (with inexistent targets) in order to remove them and declutter your hard drive.

The application runs on low CPU and RAM, so it does not affect the PC's overall performance. It has a good response time, finishes a scan job quickly and works well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. We have not come across any issues in our tests. Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, it can be used by anyone.
