CRC is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help you verify the integrity of a CD, network transfer (via local network, FTP, email, or other connections), and disk area. You can make the program check out if a CD or hard disk is readable.

CRC sports a simple and clean design that incorporates only a few configuration settings. You can also appeal to a help manual in case you do not manage to set up the dedicated parameters on your own.

CRC files can be imported in the working environment using only the built-in browse button (the drag-and-drop support is not implemented).

The application offers you the possibility to process a single CRC file or specify a user-defined folder that stores multiple CRC items. A log is implemented in the main window for helping you check out details about the entire process and possible errors. You can clear log data with a single click.

What’s more, CRC is able to generate a CRC plain text file at the root of the specified folder which contains a file list with the locations and CRC data of each item. Plus, the tool checks them in order to detect any modifications.

Tests have pointed out that CRC carries out tasks pretty quickly. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so the overall performance of the computer is not hampered. On the downside, it has not been updated for a long time so you may come across all sorts of bugs, errors, and compatibility issues on newer operating systems.
