Device Rescue provides a alternative to the Windows Device Manager. It basically encompasses the same functionality, while bringing to the table additional features and options to allow batch operations and one-click actions. Not only that you get to see all the computer’s hardware devices in a single place, but you can quickly assess their status, create backups and reinstall devices that are not working.
There is no need to install Device Rescue: as soon as you double-click on the downloaded file, the main window is shown, revealing a list of all the devices your PC is equipped with.
Unlike Windows Device Manager, which adopts a tree-like display, Device Rescue has them all organized in different categories by device type, in a list with columns. This way, you have information at a glance about the status of the device, its class and maufacturer, the last time the driver was updated and the driver version, the service name or the hardware ID, as well as the instance ID. Moreover, all the data is color coded, allowing you to quicky spot devices that have no drivers installed or are not working for some reasons.
Device Rescue features quick selection tools, making it possible to select multiple devices with a few clicks and perform batch actions easier. For instance, you can disable, restart, backup or uninstall device together with their drivers or update checked drivers with the click of a button. Devices can be reinstalled if they experience problems. Drivers can also be updated from a folder or via the WAU Manager.
With Device Rescue, you can scan for missing devices and reinstall them without a lot of hassle. It can scan the device list for hardware changes and create backups to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Running setup operations, changing device states, one-click device removal or updating or driver backups , Device Rescue can do all this and more. The color-coded legend allows you to address issues much faster, while the more detailed display mode reveals information about the hardware devices in plain sight. It is a nifty piece of software with a few extra functions compared to the Windows Device Manager, functions that bring convenience and streamline your workflow.
