LoadingMate

LoadingMate is an advanced tool you can use to stress the CPU and RAM of your computer. It applies a load onto one processor core only. For multi-core processors, you can set the program's affinity from the Task Manager.

Setting up this program is speedy and shouldn't take you long. As far as the interface is concerned, it adopts a simple window that lists the CPU and memory load tests, along with program options.

When it comes to CPU stress tests, you can instruct LoadingMate to apply a random amount within a customized range (in percent), an exact amount, or cyclic, which means that an infinite range of load cycles are carried out until the operation is manually aborted by triggering the reset button.

For the memory load, it's only necessary to indicate the amount in megabytes. Otherwise, you can click a button to get the available physical memory without any hassle.

Worth noting is that both CPU and RAM tests can be executed at the same time, or individually. During these tests, the tool reveals information about the current CPU and memory load in the status bar.

When it comes to general settings, it's possible to make the frame stay on top of other windows, emulate the Windows XP look, as well as set the program's priority to real-time, high, above normal, normal, below normal, or low.

Although it hasn't been updated for a long time, the software application worked smoothly on newer Windows editions in our tests, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or prompt error messages.

Unfortunately, it doesn't implement options for monitoring CPU and RAM loads over a period of time, in order to save details to file for later examination. Nevertheless, LoadingMate gets the job done.
