SWMole Directory Size

SWMole Directory Size is a lightweight software utility whose main purpose is to show users the size of each file or folder on their local hard disks.

Since the application does not come with sophisticated options or configuration parameters, it can be handled by all level users, even the ones that have little or no experience working with software applications.

The GUI consists of a single window that is pretty intuitive and is divided between four main sections. One section displays all the folders and sub-folders within the selected directory, as well as their size in bytes, kilobytes, megabytes or gigabytes. The second section gives users more information about the name, owner, when they were created, modified and last accessed, their size in and bytes. From the third section, users can view the size of each hard drive partition and the available free space. Lastly, the forth section graphically displays the contents of folders and files as a bar or circular chart, with each colored sector representing either their names, extensions, file types, owners and time or size range.

The program provides information concerning the current number of files, grouped by type, size, time or extension.

Users can set filters to get information about their data by excluding certain file types or by specifying the size of the examined files.

Reports with the scanned files can be exported as HTML or CSV files, but you can also save brief file scan results as TXT documents.

Overall, SWMole Directory Size is an efficient and convenient utility that helps users manage their memory resources by monitoring the hard disk space occupied by files and folders. During our evaluation, we did not encounter any pop-up error messages or crashes, although the amount of memory and CPU usage is kept at moderate to high levels when scanning large drive partitions.
