Properly managing your startup can make a difference between a lightning-fast Windows boot and a very slow one. Many of the apps that you install will add themselves to the startup (sometimes even without your permission) and have a noticeable effect on your operating system’s performance.

The most recent versions of Windows already provide you with the tools you need to prevent unwanted software from launching as soon as you start your PC. However, there are plenty of other applications that can give you better control over this process.

Banesk is a pretty intuitive tool; as soon as you open it, you can see all your startup programs listed in its main interface. From there, you can select which ones you want to stop from launching along with Windows, thus ensuring a faster and smoother start for your system.

However, you may be reluctant to do so, as you’ll probably be discouraged by the design choices made by the developer. The only font used is Comic Sans (or something strikingly similar) and the flashy button colors certainly don’t make it look better.

Banesk’s best feature is that it also lets you add items to the startup; these items can be files, folders or even websites. This may be very useful if you keep your projects spread over many folders or if you work with multiple websites at once.

However, keep in mind that choosing to add more items will unavoidably burden the startup process, because all the apps, folders and sites will open all at once. So you need to ask yourself if all those mouse clicks that you are saving are actually buying you extra time.

To conclude, Banesk could be a useful app, but with an uninspired design and so many professional apps out there that can do the same thing, it really won’t be anyone’s first choice when it comes to startup managers.
