DanComp

DanComp is a simple tool with a well-defined purpose. This app provides all the standard power options one would have when using most Windows operating systems. Why would you need a new set of power options, one might ask? Well, with a healthy OS, you don't need such a service, but with a forged, or unkempt Windows copy, the power options are no longer so easy to reach for.

DanComp has a compact interface. In fact, the UI is nothing more than a short combo menu holding five power options. The shut-down option is the one and only visible action when opening the app. Click the bracket to reveal the rest of the actions, such as restart, stand by, log off and hibernate.

Keep in mind that DanComp is not the scheduler type of tool. You won't be able to set a time for when a power option to take effect. Once you click on one of the provided actions, your computer will act on that in an instant.

One positive aspect of this program is its portability perk. This allows you to have this program at hand each time its services are needed. It works directly from a removable device like a USB stick or a pen drive, or you can move it to a drive and deploy it from there.

To sum it up, DanComp is not an application that brings something new to the table or new features in regard to managing a system's power options. This tool is more like an emergency kit for computers whose operating system is too damaged or not responsive enough to deal with the start menu, thus the default set of power buttons. If your OS is healthy, this tool is not for you. On the other hand, if you still want to drag on your faulty setup but prefer to power off your computer without using the case button, you are in the right place.
