Create a launcher for any kind of file which neatly stays on top of the taskbar to help you run frequently used items with only a mouse click. #Shortcut Launcher #Launch Shortcut #File Launcher #Launcher #Launch #Shortcut
There are an abundance of methods through which the operating system can be customized. Chances are you simply want to create a fast way of launching frequently used programs or files. As such, Dock comes with the necessary means to help you add multiple files of various types to be launched at the press of a button.
First of all, you need to check whether or not your computer is fitted with .NET Framework, because it's a mandatory requirement for functionality. On the other hand, the application can be used as a launcher for your portable apps, and this is due to the lack of a setup process, which minimizes deployment effort to almost nothing.
On launch a transparent bar shows up above your taskbar. It isn't fitted with any elements by default, and there's also an associated tray icon which is used to close the program, make it stay on top of every other window, and choose whether or not to display a tooltip with related program info on mouseover.
In order to add files to the launcher you only need to drop the target item over the dock. The file is added instantly, with its icon used for easy identification, and tooltip on mouseover if enabled, without any permanent tags or names. You're free to drag elements around in order to configure position, with no grid or other delimiters to drag you down. There's no file type restriction, and you can add anything you see fit.
Practicality is a plus, even in this simplicity. However, it would have been neat to see at least a few customization options to change opacity, or color of the dock. There's no default way to make it run on startup, but you can bypass this inconvenience and manually add a the app's shortcut to the system Startup folder.
Taking everything into consideration, we can state that Dock might be a pretty straightforward application, but is sure to come in handy when you want to free your desktop, and only leave a pretty wallpaper hanging around. It can be used on the go, while accommodation barely takes any effort.
