EightButtons

EightButtons acts as an application launcher, offering you quick access to programs you frequently use. Delivered inside a lightweight package, it helps you create shortcuts to the programs you want, in the attempt to ease your work and keep an uncluttered desktop.

EightButtons displays a small window that packs eight buttons of different colors, each one having one assigned shortcut.

It comes with predefined targets, enabling you to quickly access some important programs in Windows, such as Notepad, Disk Management, Windows Media Player or the Private Character Editor. Some of the predefined shortcuts might not work, depending on the operating system your computer is running on.

When hovering your mouse over the buttons, you will notice that the application instructs you to right-click to save and left click to exit. Right-clicking on a button prompts you to enter the location of the file you want to create a shortcut for.

It is not mandatory for the file to be an executable, since EightButtons enables you to launch any type of file, be it a program, a video, an image, a song and so on, immediately opening it with the default associated application.

It takes just a single item to be customized for EightButtons to generate a text file within its installation directory, comprising the location of all the target applications. As such, you can edit this file to customize the shortcuts.
