Timed Shutdown

Timed Shutdown is a simple and straightforward application you can use to schedule your computer to shut down, restart or log off after a specific amount of time has passed.

You can use it to quickly set up a schedule and then leave your computer unattended, knowing that it will automatically power off.

The tool's not wrapped in a setup kit. However, it's necessary to have .NET Framework on your PC to be able to launch Timed Shutdown without any errors, because it was developed using this software framework. Nevertheless, you can extract the .exe file from the downloaded archive and place it anywhere on the disk, as well as copy it to a removable storage device to seamlessly launch it on any PC with little effort.

Regarding the interface, the software program is clean and intuitive, showing all its options in plain sight. You can select the power management task between shutdown, restart and logoff by just ticking the corresponding box from the list, specify the countdown timer in minutes (up to 99,999 minutes, which is the equivalent to 69 days, 10 hours and 39 minutes), as well as click Start to begin counting down time.

The application shows the current date and time in black font, along with the date and time of shutdown in dark red font. You can cancel the task anytime with one click if you change your mind, or minimize it to the taskbar to carry on with your typical desktop activity (there's also a systray icon that shows the time of shutdown when moving your mouse cursor over it).

On the other hand, Timed Shutdown doesn't give you the possibility to schedule a power management option by specifying the sharp time, nor does it notify you that time's almost up, so that you can cancel the task if you forgot about it. Nevertheless, this software application is easy to use by anyone interested in rapidly scheduling PC shutdown, restart or logoff without too much hassle.
