Windows is designed to allow you to easily access favorite files, folders and programs. Some default tweaks can increase comfort, but a lot more can be accomplished with the help of third-party enhancements. For instance, TrayMenus lets you keep an organized menu of all items in the tray area to access with little effort.
The application is ready as soon as it reaches your computer, with no installation involved to take any of your time or effort. However, you do need to make sure that your computer is already fitted with .NET Framework or install it otherwise. It can also be carried around on a thumb drive along with saved menus to use on other PCs.
There aren’t any preset locations like Windows tools to get you up and running, but creating your own items from scratch isn’t that difficult. Although drag and drop is not supported to quickly add items from opened folders, input values are easy to comprehend by individuals of all levels of experience.
Several types of items can be created, and changes are all saved on the spot. A new item can either mean a separator, sub item, shortcut, or folder. An image can be attributed to each item. Shortcuts can be set to run with additional parameters, or launched from a separate folder, but these options are not mandatory.
Adding folders doesn’t just bring them up in File Explorer, but makes all content interactive, including subfolders. Multiple menus can be created and saved to file for custom groups of shortcuts. There’s no built-in option to make it run with Windows, but this is bypassed by adding a shortcut inside the system Startup folder.
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that TrayMenus might look a little rough around the edges, but it allows you to create complex menus for almost any kind of item on your computer with little effort. Multiple menus can be created, and changes are saved and previewed on the spot.
