LabelControl

Nothing can beat the mouse and keyboard duo, not when it comes to working, gaming, or entertaining any other hobby. However, some individuals manage to get everything done using just one of the peripherals. If you are inclined to use mostly the keyboard during your computer work, an application like LabelControl could come in handy.

A program like LableControl does not need a dedicated UI, as it works towards modifying the OS behavior with minimal visual impact. To be more precise, the program sticks tiny numerical labels to some areas of your operating system. Those numbers are linked to your Num Pad, allowing you to navigate through the File Explorer, let's say, without touching the mouse.

Besides the File Explorer, the app will have control over installation packages and applications alike. To trigger the labels, you must press and hold CTRL and then hit whatever number appears to the element of interest, be that a button, a dropdown menu, or a checkbox.

Double-click the application file to launch the app. Look no further than the system tray for a new icon, and don't expect an installation wizard. LabelControl is portable, and thus easy to manage and deploy.

Access the app's context menu by clicking the tray icon. You can quickly disable the app from there, and access its more advanced settings. This selection of tweaks may be of no use to a casual user, but those who are more OS-savvy than the average Joe could use them to improve their experience.

LabelControl might have seen some winters, but its functionality was not compromised. In case you experience unresponsiveness while the app is launched and enabled, just run it with administration rights, and it should work from there. As for the advanced settings, those could be easily ignored if you don't want to bother with them.
