Low Disk Space Message Killer

"Low disk space" messages were implemented by Microsoft to notify users when their computers are running low on disk space on the primary partition where Windows is installed (typically C:).

However, if you wish to ignore "Low disk space" alerts, you can resort to Low Disk Space Message Killer, a simple application that performs the necessary registry tweaks to deactivate these Microsoft alerts when you reach the 200MB, 80MB and 50MB thresholds. You just have to run the downloaded setup file, as the lightweight tool handles the rest.

On the other hand, you should know that the developer hasn't integrated options for undoing this modification, so it's not possible to reactivate "Low disk space" messages by just clicking a button. This can be done by finding and installing another application or by manually tweaking the system registry settings.

What Low Disk Space Message Killer does is access Registry Editor (Regedit), goes to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoft WindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer, creates a new value called "DWORD", names it "NoLowDiscSpaceChecks" and sets its value to 1.

It may be necessary to restart the PC to commit modifications. If you want to undo changes to restart the "Low disk space" message, just follow these steps in the Registry Editor to delete "NoLowDiscSpaceChecks".
