Your mouse is used differently when navigating online, drawing or designing with a graphics editor or during gaming sessions, for instance. MouseTray is an open-source application that makes it possible for you to change the mouse cursor speed via the tray area in Windows.

The mouse pointer speed can be adjusted in Windows via the operating system’s Settings, but MouseTray makes it even easier to change the cursor speed by placing the slider in the tray area. Moreover, it allows you to configure predefined profiles and quickly switch between different cursor speeds when needed.

MouseTray does not require installation. It is up and running as soon as you double-click on the main executable file and automatically launched in the system tray. Clicking on the tray icon reveals the slider that you can use to adjust the mouse cursor.

The right-click menu offers one-click access to the application’s preferences, as well as quick shortcuts to the mouse and touchpad properties in Windows, as well as the Settings app.

Its utmost advantage is the possibility to create profiles, which makes it quite easy to change the cursor speed and toggle pointer acceleration on or off without having to open the Windows Settings or even the MouseTray application. While it could use improvements to extend the way it controls mouse settings, this application comes in handy to anyone who has to adjust the cursor speed often.
