Adds a series of useful commands to the context menu to allow easier and faster access to important system functions in the Windows operating system #Launch application #Enhance context menu #Launch system app #Launcher #Enhancer #Shell
PowerShell-V is optimized for Windows Vista, but it might also run on more recent Windows iterations, such as Windows 8. The application is not to be confused with the PowerShell console shell and scripting language. What this tool does is to add new items to the context menu of "My Computer" or "This PC" to make the most common Windows features more accessible to users.
The setup runs smoothly, but it might fail in case the user does not have elevated rights. The solution is to launch PowerShell-V with administrative privileges.
Once the application is installed, users can open the context menu of the "My Computer" or "This PC" shortcut or icon to see the new items.
PowerShell-V offers faster access to the Windows firewall, the calculator, the Control Panel and some of its sections (such as the Add and Remove Programs), Disk Cleanup, the Task Manager, or the Windows Calendar. It allows users to quickly launch the command prompt and the Registry Editor, as well as a few system tools. The new context menu comprises the shutdown command, so it is easier to turn off the computer.
Aside from enhancing the My Computer menu, PowerShell-V also adds new options in the "New" property menu. As such, it enables users to create batch files and HTML documents, registry entries (REG), or CSS, Javascript and VBScript files.
