Voice Recognition is a small software application designed specifically for helping you control the computer through voice commands. You can access system commands and programs through the use of speech and work with a built-in text-to-speech engine for reading aloud text.

The portable running mode leaves no traces in your Windows registry and configuration data in your computer. You may run the tool by simply opening the EXE file.

Uninstalling it means deleting the files that you have grabbed from the Internet. You can also copy the utility on any USB flash drive or other devices and take it with you.

You are welcomed by a simplistic layout that hides under its hood only a few configuration parameters. The speech/voice recognition mode can also be started or stopped via the program’s icon from the system tray area.

Voice Recognition gives you the possibility to control your computer through various voice commands, such as open the default calculator application, close active window, start command-prompt, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint or Word, open Facebook in your default web browser, and hide the voice recognition window (it still runs in the background).

You are allowed to find out the current Windows user, open the default web browser, start Notepad, shut down the computer, check out the computer name and operating system, as well as open Windows Explorer and YouTube in your default browser.

Last but not least, you can make the application read aloud the text written in a dedicated panel or pasted from other third-party utilities. The text-to-speech engine is simplistic, as it doesn’t offer support for advanced features such as volume and voice speed adjustments.
