Bear

Bear is a small software application whose purpose is to help you get information about the usage of all GDI Objects and User Objects for processes that are currently running on your system. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.

This is a portable tool which enables you to store it on USB flash drives or other devices. Accessing the program’s GUI requires only opening the executable file because you do not have to go through a configuration process. Uninstalling the utility means deleting the files that you have downloaded from your computer. You can run it without administrative privileges on a target PC.

The layout looks straightforward and well organized. A multi-tabbed environment is implemented for helping you get statistics about the counters and configure the dedicated parameters.

Bear automatically retrieves information about the running processes and displays it in the main window. It is able to provide details about the usage of GDI Objects, namely hDC, hRegion, hBitmap, hPalette, hFont, hBrush, usage of User Objects, like Wnd, hMenu, hCursor, SetWindowsHookEx, SetTimer, and other parameters, as well as handle count.

Other important tweaking parameters worth being mentioned enable you to automatically refresh the information shown in the main panel, copy the selected data to the clipboard or transfer all details to the clipboard, manually refresh data, as well as create logs which can be exported to CSV file format.

You can make the application show detailed information about a process, such as base address, allocation base, region size, state, and type. You are allowed to export data to XML or CSV file format.

You can also keep the main window on top of other utilities, and send email notifications in case the handle sum is exceeded for a certain process.
