One Percent is a straightforward application that can help you out in this scenario, as it enables you to keep a close eye on CPU and RAM usage from your desktop. It features a gadget-like UI and is very simple to use, but it offers no other features.

You will notice that the program consists of a single executable file, and there is no need to install anything before running One Percent. Its small file size also makes it easy to carry around and share.

It is also worth noting that the application does not leave any files behind or create new registry entries, which is great if you prefer to keep your computer clean.

One Percent displays the current processor and RAM usage in percentage form, and the values seem to be updated once per second. However, it might help if there was an option to view the actual amount of memory that is being used.

The ten most recent values are also displayed in a chart, so you should be able to notice any spikes even if you weren’t paying attention at the time.

This is only the first version of One Percent, so it is likely that more functions will be introduced in future releases. However, in its current state, the application offers very little to draw in potential users.

The GUI is well designed, but you cannot resize the window, and it is not possible to pin it on the desktop or have it remain on top of other windows.
