More often than not, when cleaning or organizing the files on your computer, you may come across files for which you cannot make modifications. For instance, if you are organizing your music collection and would like to change a timestamp, you may find that the said property is displayed in gray and hence, you cannot change it. As the name implies, PropertySystemView is a tiny tool designed to help you view and edit the properties of files on your system.

The program is portable, so you can start using it as soon as you decompress the archive. The developer recommends that you use the tool specific for the architecture of your system, respectively x86 or x64, to avoid potential errors during editing. You can get started by selecting the method of loading the file and then you can view dozens of properties and values associated with the given file.

The idea behind the tool is to provide quick access to the file properties so that you can make the necessary modifications. Among the properties that can be edited via the app, you can count title, comment, author, date acquired, content created date, date taken, so on and so forth.

According to the developer, there are some bugs and issues embedded in the Windows file properties that cannot be overcome. For starters, the 'read only' flag you may see with some data is not exactly reliable and you can actually edit some of these properties because they are not defined as 'read only'. Then again, if you attempt this, bear in mind that you can get some errors.

Lastly, it is worth mentioning that some properties can behave differently on different versions of Windows. PropertySystemView does come with limitations that are related to the bugs of the Windows file property system and not the app itself.
