TimVer

Winver is a basic Windows command users deploy when they need to find out the OS version and build number. TimVer, on the other hand, is a program derived from the same idea as winver, the difference being made by a large amount of system information it provides.

Just like its inspiration model, TimVer brings up the OS version and build number, but it doesn't stop there. You'll get information about the build's architecture, edition ID, date of installation, temp directory, and the email used for registration.

In addition to OS-related data, the program also provides some partial hardware identification. Switch to the Computer tab to get your CPU model, number of cores and threads, RAM, available drives, the last reboot time, and more. It would have been nice to have a few GPU-related data as well.

History is a rather unclear section of the app. The information it provides doesn't seem to help anyone in any way, at least at a first sight.

As the application is focused on data extraction and not user interaction, the settings are mainly visual. You can change the UI size, initial view, theme, and color with a small variety of preset options. A dark theme is a bliss when having sore eyes, so better take advantage of it.

In case you want to tweak the information display and force TimVer's UI on top of other windows, you are free to do it.

TimVer is a neat system information extractor in itself, but it does appear the type of program you only run once you've acquired a new PC and forget about it. Still, it offers enough data about one's machine in order to be viewed as a worthy addition to one's toolkit.
