PCInfo

PCInfo is a lightweight piece of software you can use to obtain some basic information about your computer system, such as battery status, total hard drive space, and screen resolution.

It doesn't include special options or configuration properties, making it accessible to all types of users.

Installing this tool is a speedy job that shouldn't give you any trouble, since there are no unfamiliar buttons or third-party components bundled with the setup kit.

However, you must have .NET Framework installed, since it was developed with the aid of this platform.

As far as the interface is concerned, PCInfo opts for a small window with a plain and simple structure, where the system info is immediately collected and displayed at startup.

In this panel, you can check out the computer name, operating system, wireless network and battery status, total hard drive capacity and free space, along with the screen resolution and bits per pixel.

There are no buttons implemented for printing information, exporting it to file for closer examination, or copying it to the Clipboard. However, you can select individual text fields to copy via the right-click menu or the global Ctrl+C key combination. There are no other aspects worth mentioning about this program.

Unsurprisingly from such a small-sized utility, it didn't put a strain on the machine's performance in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly. No error dialogs popped up and it didn't hang or crash.

On the other hand, PCInfo doesn't offer extensive details about the computer as other richer programs which focus on individual parts of the system (e.g. installed software, hardware components). We are also taking into account that it hasn't received updates for a long time. Nevertheless, it's easy to use.
