Battery Meter is a lightweight Windows application whose purpose is to help you monitor your laptop's battery, so as to know when it’s time for you to plug in and charge your battery.

The tool places a small floating panel on your desktop displaying the current status of your battery. Everything is kept as simple and clear as possible, so even rookies can master the entire process in no time.

With just one click on the minimalistic window, you are offered details about the remaining time before the battery is fully charged and discharged, total charge and discharge time values, as well as percentage of remaining power. What’s more, the utility reveals a map displaying the charging and discharging time values.

The lack of configurable settings makes it an ideal tool especially for less experienced users. However, it would have been useful to see support for custom sound notifications and popups messages that could let you know if the battery level gets below a user-defined value. The utility is not able to prioritize the running processes, so they don’t eat up too much power.

Battery Meter remains light on system resources, so it doesn’t hamper your computer performance. On the downside, it hasn’t been updated for a while, so it may cause compatibility issues on newer operating systems.
