It helps you manage multiple network components and get data on their status, structure and more. Discovered data is visually profiled in a uniquely designed schema view, in addition to traditional tree views.
The application doesn't take long to install and it doesn't come with a complicated setup that you would need to complete, before you can check out all of its features. It sports a really intuitive graphical interface with plenty of tools at hand and some really nice features.
Blackowl-MIB's toolbar is designed to be clean and uncluttered to provide quick and easy access to most common and frequently performed operations.
Blackowl-MIB automatically detects and uses the configuration settings, if the workstation is setup to connect directly to the internet. It is also possible to pre-configure Blackowl-MIB to use a specific access profile.
By configuring the IP address of the desired proxy server and the specific port number, Blackowl-MIB is net-enabled. You have the option to import MIB into Blackowl-MIB from a local drive or networked drive.
There are many ways in which you can view the contents of a MIB file, depending on the context. The RFC view displays the entire content of the MIB file, including author/company, notes, history, annotations and descriptions.
The text view shows you only MIB related contents like imports lists, module definitions, variables and notifications.
It comes with the option to run multiple commands, like the walk command which is used to traverse the object hierarchy in the tree view for a selected node. The purpose is to progressively identify and plot the OIDs starting from the selected node till the end of tree is reached.
