LowToSleep is a small tool that prevents your computer from going into sleep mode. The application detects the load of your PC, and if it is still active, the computer will not go to sleep, disregarding the sleep mode setup.

The best program is the one you've instructed to take care of a  task and do it without your active supervision. LowToSleep is exactly that type of app. On top of that, you won't have to bother with installing it. Unzip the archive and launch it - the tool is portable.

In case you are interested in your CPU load, you can check the tray icon for that information. Hover the cursor over the red heart shortcut to generate a tooltip with the percentual usage values of your CPU.

Despite being a bit of an old tool, LowToSleep seems to be able to properly detect dual or multicore processors, ensuring the correct calculations are being made, and the proper result is shown.

Even such a simplistic tool has a certain level of customization to it. In this case, the settings are found within a Notepad file, as strings. All you have to do is to modify the triggering values for the CPU threshold. check interval and idle duration.

LowToSleep is not a tool you are going to use daily, but only in those moments where you need to let the PC wrap up whatever work it has, without the fear of having your process interrupted by the sleep mode. Of course, if you are willing to change the sleep mode options manually, this makes the app useless, but if you are not, you're free to give it a try.
