A lightweight, console-based notification software that flashes the Windows Terminal layout five times after a running job is completed #Task notificator #WindowsTerminal flasher #Notify job completion #Notification #WindowsTerminal.exe #Flash
NotifyMe is and tiny tool with a rather simple purpose, and that is to highlight whenever your running tasks hit the 100% completion mark. Long-running tasks, more precisely, executed through the command line console or other environments.
A tool of this is hardly containing embedded graphics or complex code, so the notification method had to be smartly integrated. And it was. The Windows Terminal (WindowsTerminal.exe) layout is used as the flag for the entire operation, and it will flash five times when the jobs have been completed.
Loading NotifyMe into a process is not a chore, and you can find the steps here. In short, after you determine a job, add the '; nt' trigger at the end of it. For Linux users, the program should allow one to run executables on WSL in order to ping the Windows Terminal.
If you don't like the program the app is using or the flash count, you can change those, but you have to know how to handle code.
To sum things up, NotifyMe is a tiny console-based solution for individuals who wish to be notified when a long-running task was completed. Won't work if you are AFK. The notification is visual only, which would require you to have a constant view of the screen.
