Resource distribution is handled by Windows, but everything running on your PC takes up a bit of everything. The CPU dictates how fast processes run, with some programs eating up a lot of CPU. In case you don’t want to risk overwhelming the processor, ResLoad Notifier can keep an eye on running processes, and warn you of high usage.

You can go ahead and run the application right after download. This is because no installation is involved, giving you the opportunity to store it on a USB flash drive in case you want to carry it around to use on other computers as well. Don’t worry about the health status of the target PC, because registry entries are not modified.

The application is only capable of monitoring CPU usage, and it starts to do so as soon as it’s launched. The main window also shows up, letting you view total, and main processor usage, as well as the number of processes using it. There’s also a list of processes which are currently running, with a drop-down menu filling up the list with background processes as well.

In case something doesn’t appear on the list, you can hit the “refresh” button. The warning mode can be set to trigger whenever the total CPU is either more or less than a specific percentage. On the other hand, you can pick a process from the list to be monitored according to the same usage rules.
