SECUDRIVE Sanitizer Free is a small software application designed specifically for helping you permanently erase data from your disks so it cannot be recovered using dedicated tools.

The portable running mode comes with several advantages to your system. You may skip the installation process and run the utility by simply opening the EXE file. Uninstalling the tool from your system means deleting the files that you have grabbed from the Internet.

You may copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices and run it on the target computer without administrative privileges. What’s more, the app does not leave any entries in your Windows registry.

SECUDRIVE Sanitizer Free sports an intuitive layout that reveals a list with all hard disks found on your computer, along with information about the drive, type, model, serial number, number of volumes, sectors and size. Plus, it is able to automatically detect removable devices.

The wiping task can be carried out using a single deletion algorithm, namely overwrite by constant. The tool reveals multiple deletion algorithms in a drop-down list but they are not available in the free version. You cannot use the DoD 5200.22-M (3 or 7 passes plus verifications) and Gutmann method.

The program automatically calculates the estimated time used for deleting data from your hard disk. It is able to work with a single disk and the actual time for erasing the disk can change according to your computer’s performance.

There’s no need to boot the PC using the CD-ROM or USB drive as SECUDRIVE Sanitizer Free automatically starts deleting the disk at system reboot.

The utility is able to delete both internal and external (USB, IEEE1394) hard disks, IDE/SATA disks, and unformatted hard disks. Plus, it automatically handles bad sectors.

All things considered, SECUDRIVE Sanitizer Free combines an intuitive interface with a basic suite of deletion features for helping you sanitize sensitive data found on hard disks and USB flash drives. On the downside, the free version is able to process a single hard disk and offers only a deletion algorithm.
