For most of us, the general way of installing a new application is usually by pressing the EXE or MSI file commonly named "setup," and then follow the on-screen instructions. However, the typical software package can have a few disadvantages, such as not giving you the ability to choose which components of a program to install. That being the case, you could try using an app like ZTSvc, which acts as a lightweight Windows Service for software deployment and other automatic client tasks.

ZTSvc is a lightweight Windows service that is designed to help you install software packages on your computer by using scripts. The operations required to install a certain application is saved in a configuration file. This tool can come in handy when you need to deploy applications or to update them to the latest version. It can be executed locally or from a network drive.

Administrators of a local network can assign software packages to anyone inside it. Some developers offer multiple software packages and using this program you can choose which ones to install exactly. ZTSvc can assign deployment immediately after reboot, or around one minute after any file change, and one advantage is that you no longer need your local cache for storage since all software packages will now reside on an SMB share. Interference from Windows updates will also now be a thing of the past since while any software installation occurs,  Windows Update Service will be paused.

If your program is the type that supports a whole plethora of plugins and add-ons, you can assign this app to define the install order, as to ensure that the main program is installed before the addons. All components can be installed and a log file of the process is saved, regardless of whether we are talking about Hardware.dat, Network.dat, Software.dat, Users.dat or Windows.dat.
