The Windows operating system you’re using at home or work isn’t the only type Microsoft’s been developing in its history. Apart from mobile versions of Windows, servers too need some specialized, more powerful systems, capable of handling more operations than those of a casual computer user. In this regard, Zap App comes with the means to install an even larger variety of programs on a server.

Needless to say that the first thing to do is go through the setup process, which only takes a little while. Once this is done, you can bring up the interface to see what it’s all about. No special visuals are implemented, with all elements, buttons, fields and panels being created with the classic old Windows theme.

From the four given panels, you only get to work with two of them. One is cleverly fitted with thorough descriptions of stuff you click on, while the other stacks up all work you done so far,in order to provide an overview of the project.

The effort required on your behalf is not something to be scared of, because there are only a few fields you need to fill in, some of which are not mandatory or get filled by themselves. You only need to pay attention when picking the Install Path EXE file, the one that’s about to be upgraded and compatible with Active Directory policies.

Additional command parameters can be added in case something needs to be specified, or the application needs to run under special conditions. You can manually add extensions the target program can read, but you’re only limited to six entries, and adding more only replaces the first entries.

General information refers to publisher of the application, as well as the publisher URL and version. These fields are not mandatory, but it’s always good to have all details filled in. By now, the Make ZAP file should be available, and pressing it gets the job done in a matter of seconds.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Zap App is a lightweight application that’s fitted for one task, and manages to properly finish it, without much effort on your behalf. Even if the visual design seems outdated, the interface is well-structured and equipped with details, making your work a lot easier.
