Managing running applications and the processes they open is usually quite easy to do, at least at a basic level, using the Task Manager that is built-in Windows. Sometimes, though, there are cases when some really pesky program just won't go away the nice way and will insist to keep the memory and processor occupied for no reason.

If ending that task or the whole process tree is not possible, it's time to bring some reinforcements and enlist the help of a software solution like ZeroWave. Especially designed to terminate any kind of running process, this small tool is very easy to use and may yield surprisingly good results.

The first option should work well for normal, non-system processes, while the second alternative is best suited for applications that have crashed but are still hanging and refusing to close. The 'Forced Termination' also works very well for system processes.
