Extract, replace and backup keys from registry entries using this straightforward app with two search functions for the registry entries and extracted keys #Rip registry #Copy registry #Move registry #Ripper #Rip #Registry
Karen's Registry Ripper extracts specific entries from registry keys and lets you save them separately. It's a speedy and simple-to-use software program that features a search function.
After a fast and uneventful setup operation, you're welcomed by a user-friendly interface represented by a classical-looking window, where you can get started by selecting one or more keys to look into when it comes to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, HKEY_CURRENT_USER, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, H_KEY USERS and HKEY_CURRENT_CONFIG.
The utility puts a basic search function at your disposal, enabling you to enter containing text for registry entries to take into account. If this field is left empty, Karen's Registry Ripper will list all entries from the selected keys.
On scan completion you can find out the full registry path of each key and select the ones you want to export to REG or TXT format. Buttons for selecting and deselecting all keys are available, as well as for inverting the current selection.
Moreover, you can use a search function that's limited to the results list. You can also ask the utility to replace any occurrence of characters with something else, as well as to delete the original registry keys afterward.
Unsurprisingly, the tool didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the machine in our tests, running on low CPU and RAM. It worked smoothly, without triggering the operating system to hang, crash or prompt error messages.
Although it hasn't been updated for a very long time, Karen's Registry Ripper still works on later Windows editions. It delivers a simple and effective method for backing up smaller segments from the Windows registry, thus giving you the possibility to restore settings later in case the operating system crashes, for example after installing unstable software.
