Registry Jumper Portable

Made as the portable twin of Registry Jumper, this small yet practical app presents a hassle-free mode for locating specific registry keys without having to browse through all records, especially when their whereabouts are unknown.

Since there is no setup pack involved, the tiny executable item can be dropped in any part of the hard disk and run directly. The alternative is to save Registry Jumper to a USB flash disk or other mass storage device, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no prior installers.

Users should also be aware of the fact that the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries (as it typically happens with installers), so no traces are left behind after Registry Jumper's removal.

Looks is not exactly Registry Jumper's strongest point, nor a rich set of features. Made from a small window with a drop-down list, text box and button, the interface is intuitive enough to be figured out by all user groups.

The concept is a no-brainer, since all you have to do is pick a registry section from the drop-down list, enter a registry key, and click a button to immediately open its location in Registry Editor.

Barely visible through a star icon is the option to create and organize a list of favorite registry entries, in order to rapidly access them at a later time (useful for verifying an app's leftover keys after its uninstallation, for example).

We have not come across any unpleasant surprises in our tests, since the program did not pop up error dialogs, hang or crash. It doesn't hog system resources either, as it uses low CPU and RAM.

Even if it's not the most resourceful application dedicated to quickly searching the Windows Registry, Registry Jumper does a decent job and can be easily handled by anyone.
