7plus

7plus is a tiny and portable software application that provides you with numerous options to take control of Windows. It lets you set up global hotkeys for various commands, customize Windows Explorer, and manage FTP profiles, among others features.

Since there is no setup pack involved, you can drop the program files to any part of the disk and just click the executable to launch 7plus. Another possibility is to save it to a USB flash drive to be able to directly run it on any PC with minimum effort.

Once launched, the program creates an icon in the taskbar notifications area for quick access, and gets sent there on close, so it doesn't interrupt your regular PC activity.

The main app window has a classical appearance and well-structured layout, where you can ask 7plus to automatically run at every Windows startup until further notice, hide the tray icon, launch the tool with administrative rights, and select the preferred language for documentation.

Predefined events with hotkeys are available. For example, you can capture an active window as an image, make any frame stay on top of other windows, look up keywords on Google, create new files, replace keywords within files, or shorten URLs.

It's possible to edit their properties, delete events, or create new ones by picking key modifiers, the trigger type (e.g. hotkey, double-click on desktop), conditions (e.g. fullscreen window active, mouse over clock), actions (e.g. launch a program, play a sound, send an email), and edit general information, such as the event name, description, category, and whether or not to disable or delete the event after use.

You can assign aliases to URLs to swiftly visit them, manage plugins, customize Windows Explorer (e.g. paste text and images as files), edit FTP profiles to rapidly upload data, create hotstrings to expand abbreviations and acronyms, make the Windows Update notification dialog automatically close on reboot, remove the user directory from the directory tree, hide or show hidden and system files, use a joystick as remote control when you're not in full screen mode, and much more.

There were no kind of issues in our tests, thanks to the fact that the application didn't hang, crash or prompt error messages. Its impact on the overall performance of the machine was minimal, as it needed low CPU and RAM to work properly.
