EDID/DisplayID Writer

As suggested by its name, EDID/DisplayID Writer is a tweaking tool designed to help you write a new DisplayID or EDID to the display. It does so by altering the EEPROM data in the display.

The application works with AMD/ATI or NVIDIA GPUs having the latest drivers installed. Intel units are not currently supported, so the application will not start on a computer equipped with such a GPU.

The application is easy to use, but that does not mean it is designed for beginners. On the contrary, not understating what the application does might render the display unusable. Please keep in mind that NVIDIA fails to recognize a display with invalid data, meaning you need to use an AMD GPU to fix the data, should anything go wrong. Use this application at your own risk, but make sure you understand what it does.

You can start by saving the current EDID or DisplayID to a file. Then, you can go on an allow EDID/DisplayID Writer to load a new EDID or DisplayID to the display. No changes are made until you confirm the action using the “Write” button.

EDID/DisplayID Writer is an application designed for experts who understand its potential and what it can do. As a novice, it is not recommended you use it.
