Enhance your privacy and save up storage space by disabling telemetry, uninstalling bloatware and pre-installed apps or disabling unnecessary services and tasks. #Disable telemetry #App uninstaller #Performance boost #Telemetry #Uninstaller #Boost
Windows comes with a set of pre-installed applications and a default configuration that some might not be fully comfortable with. There are the privacy-related controversial discussions and the various Windows tweaking apps as a proof to that.
One example is QuickBoost, an open-source application designed to help you modify the default Windows settings and remove or disable unnecessary or unneeded apps, services or tasks.
QuickBoost requires no installation, so you simply have to double-click on the downloaded file to launch it. Since it is a system tweaking application, each time you run the application you are advised to create a system restore point, just in case anything goes wrong.
With a user-friendly and quite appealing interface, QuickBoost allows you to apply both general and advanced tweaks meant to improve the system performance, protect your privacy and save up storage space.
The general tweaks in QuickBoost allow you to disable the XBox game bar, install the Timer Resolution service, disable telemetry functions, mouse acceleration and power saving. Moreover, the developers create a custom power plan for Windows 10 and 11 that disables the energy-saving techniques to reduce power consumption and sync process wake-ups. All these tweaks are meant to enhance the system’s responsiveness and lower input latency.
You can use QuickBoost to disable unnecessary system services and startup programs or remove pre-installed apps, all to get rid of the unwanted bloatware. While all these settings might sound tempting, you are not presented with all the modifications and tweaks in detail, but simply get a confirmation message that it is done. To put it another way, please note that everything is done with the click of a button and there is no undo besides restoring a previously saved restore point.
Advanced tweaks of QuickBoost allow you to disable Power Throttling and use the application’s memory and BCD tweaks to get improved performance. There are also GPU options that allow you to disable or enable preemption and, for Nvidia users, options to toggle the highest P-state.
There is another role of QuickBoost that we should mention: that of a system clean-up tool. With its help, you can remove temporary files on the local system and clean all the log files created by Windows. Moreover, it can launch the Windows Clean Manager to get the system maintenance operation completed.
Aside from system tweaks and cleaning the PC, QuickBoost can also be used for downloading programs that might be of help in system maintenance and management. Moreover, it bundles a few tweaking tools for Windows Explorer and Windows Settings, some very interesting. To be more specific, it allows you to enable the clipboard history, get the Windows 11 style context menu or change the looks of the taskbar.
QuickBoost can be used for applying performance, storage space and memory usage tweaks, as well as cleaning up the PC and running periodical system maintenance. While some of the aforementioned tweaks might lure you in, it is recommended to create a system restore point before using the application.
