By default, the Windows mouse cursor is white. Of course, there are customization possibilities and mouse cursor themes can be applied to change its style and color. Moreover, there are some games or applications that automatically change the mouse cursor to match their look.

However, most applications do not do that and, while it might not be disturbing to some, others prefer having the mouse cursor personalized as well. SoftCursor is a lightweight and easy-to-use application that can help you switch between hardware and software mouse cursor rendering with ease.

There is nothing much to say about this application, as it only offers two options, each with its own selection button. Practically, if you want to use it, you only need to select the preferred rendering mode: hardware cursor or software cursor.   Software rendering addresses mouse cursor corruption issues and can transform the appearance of the mouse cursor so that it matches the current color profile or the color settings in Windows. For instance, when you are using the night light in Windows, the mouse cursor can also change to match it.

There is no need to restart Windows or even keep the application running in the background. Once you select either the hardware or software cursor mode, the changes take effect instantly.
