WinSwitcher

If you are like most users, then you are likely to use the Alt + Tab shortcut when you want to switch to a new application window. While this works in most cases, it tends to be sloppy when you have numerous windows open.

WinSwitcher is a tool that can lend a hand with window switching and can be especially beneficial for users who work with numerous apps and windows and want to be able to access the one they need in a convenient way.

The app comes with a portable edition, so you don’t need to install it, just launch and you are ready to go. While the program doesn’t have an interface, you get a voice notification that the application is running in the background. To invoke the list with the running applications, you can use the Windows + F12 or Windows + Shift + A hotkeys.

Take note that the hotkeys are global, so they work regardless of the window or app you are working with. In case they interfere with other shortcuts, then you can change them from the Settings. Navigating through your list is done with the arrow keys and you can access a specific window of interest with Enter. Force closing a window or an app with all its windows is done with Delete and Escape can be used to exit the list. If you want to completely shut down the app, then you can do so via Alt + F4.

The program includes a Filter section that acts like a search and can be invoked via the Ctrl + F hotkeys when the window list is open. Simply put, the focus will be set to the search field where you can type in the name of the app/window you are looking for.

WinSwitcher is a tool that mostly appeals to users who regularly work with multiple applications and windows at the same time and want to be able to switch between between then fast and smoothly.
