The name SLAG stands for Simple Little Audio Gadget. SLAG was developed to be a free music-playing sidebar gadget that uses the Windows Media Player database.
It's small and compact, but when you click the album cover image (or visualization), a flyout displays additional details about the current track. There's a link to the track's folder, and a link to search the Web for the artist. It also features a customizable text display, and a mouse wheel activated volume control. Choose from a light or a dark color scheme.
System requirements
What's new in SLAG 1.2:
- Bug fix. When non-library files are dragged into the gadget, the artist name might have been missing. Not any more.
- Fixed display problems when using the "large font" option in Windows.
- The progress bar is now clickable, so you can change the position of the current track (e.g., skip the middle).
- In the details panel, I added an option to search for the artist using Bing (in addition to Google).
