Battery Monitor

Battery Monitor is a gadget built for the Yahoo! Widget Engine platform whose purpose is to keep track of your laptop's battery, displaying a meter on the desktop.

The installation operation is almost instant. The interface is based on a small frame that you can move to any spot on the screen with the help of the mouse cursor.

The gadget comes packed with a decent range of customization preferences that can be easily configured.

It is possible to enable low-battery alerts and adjust the starting point and frequency, as well as activate a full battery alert and tweak the big battery opacity.

You can customize the big battery colors and hide the battery time, as well as activate left or right docking mode.

Thanks to the Yahoo! Widget Engine platform, you can also make the frame stay on top or below all the other windows, and adjust its opacity level.

The software app does not put a strain on computer performance, as it runs on low CPU and RAM. It has a good refresh rate and delivers accurate information. We have not come across any kind of issues throughout our evaluation, as Battery Monitor did not hang, crash or pop up error dialogs.

Thanks to its intuitive layout and overall simplicity, Battery Monitor can be handled by all user levels, even the ones with limited or no prior experience in computer software.
