What's new in BES — Battle Encoder Shirasé 1.7.9

Oct 30, 2022
  • “pid:” is no more case-sensitive (fixed, thanks to Zijian).

New in BES — Battle Encoder Shirasé 1.7.8 (Feb 1, 2021)

  • [Change from 1.7.7] fixed minor memory leak (thanks to Eric).
  • Affected versions: 1.7.0–1.7.7 and 1.8.0–1.8.0.23. Version 1.6.x and before, 1.7.8+, 1.8.0.24+ are not affected.
  • Impact: Maybe practically harmless. While a non-affected version may use about 8.5 MiB memory, an affected version may use about 9 MiB memory after a long while, wasting ~0.5 MiB. It seems unlikely that this will cause any noticeable problems, since you probably have more than 1 GiB (1000 MiB) memory anyway. That said, you may want to use a fixed version (1.7.8+).

New in BES — Battle Encoder Shirasé 1.8.0.21 Test (May 20, 2020)

  • [NEW] Localize the new menu string, ENG_31 "Russian".
  • [MOD] Minor menu string fixes: "k&ieli"->"K&ieli", "e&spanja"->"es&panja"

New in BES — Battle Encoder Shirasé 1.8.0.18 Test (Oct 2, 2019)

  • [FIX] mode 1 was not used. (broken in test5-17)

New in BES — Battle Encoder Shirasé 1.7.7 (Aug 6, 2018)

  • You can limit more than 3 processes and watch up to 4 processes (or more, with 1.7.7+).
  • You can set a per-target Sleep/Awake Cycle. See Command Line. Based on the suggestions by Gijs van der Velden, Eric.
  • The “Select a Target” dialog box now has a Task Manager-like list-view, showing also the current CPU load for each process, automatically refreshing itself once every 1.75 seconds. Now you can easily see which process is using CPU much. Based on suggestions by Antonello.
  • Now the control slider (track bar) is also shown in the Target dialog box. You don’t need to open a different dialog box anymore to adjust the percentage.
  • If you prefer the old “Control” dialog box, it’s still there. This may be confusing for new users, because you have two sets of sliders that do the exact same thing; it shouldn’t be a big problem, though. I could remove the old Control, but then old users might be confused.
