New in Chapter Master 1.3.0 (Aug 9, 2016)

  • This version of Chapter Master removes the requirement to have Apple QuickTime installed. There have been serious security issues reported with QuickTime for Windows, and Apple recently announced that it would no longer be supporting QuickTime in future on the Windows platform, nor would it be addressing such security concerns. In the light of this, I have changed Chapter Master so that it no longer requires QuickTime, and instead uses Windows Media Player to play back audio files. Note that this requires Windows 7 or higher, as earlier versions of Windows Media Player will not play back AAC files (.m4a, .m4b or mp4 extensions).
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: You may also receive a security warning the first time you attempt to open an .m4b file with the new version of Chapter Master, like this one: “The selected file has an extension (.m4b) that is not recognized by Windows Media Player, but the Player may still be able to play it. (…)” Please check the checkbox labeled “Don’t ask me again for this extension” so Windows won’t keep asking, and then click “Yes”. If you have any concerns, please contact us at [email protected].
  • Other improvements in this version of Chapter Master include:
  • Added the ability to import and export chapter times in the standard CUE file format.
  • Fixed a bug in the batch processing module where the cover image would not be applied to all files in the batch.

New in Chapter Master 1.2.6 (Aug 9, 2016)

  • Bug fix: Fixed problem with batch mode losing metadata such as book title, author, etc.
  • Feature: Now automatically checks for updates on program startup. Checking can be disabled in Options.

New in Chapter Master 1.2.5 (Aug 9, 2016)

  • Now compiled as pure 32-bit version, means it can use QuickTime playback of audio on 64-bit systems.

New in Chapter Master 1.2.4 (Aug 9, 2016)

  • Bug fix: fixed faulty search/replace function

New in Chapter Master 1.1.2 (Aug 9, 2016)

  • Bug workaround: Chapter Master crashed on XP 64-bit and Vista 64-bit systems. This was due to Apple QuickTime not working on such systems. The workaround is to avoid the use of this control on 64 bit systems, which means losing audio playback capabilities for these users. I hope to remedy this if and when Apple produce a 64-bit compatible QuickTime.
  • I need someone to test this for me, as I don't have access to a 64 bit system.
  • Bug fix: Custom prefix option for regular chapters wasn't working in Batch Mode. Fixed.
  • Bug fix: Drag and drop of image wasn't working on Batch form. Fixed.
  • Bug fix: European use of 'decimal comma' was preventing import of files generated by MarkAble. Fixed.
  • Bug fix: After changing the time of a chapter it didn't automatically re-sort the chapter list. Fixed.
  • Feature change: Edit/New Chapter form now uses text field for time rather than spin controls, and has larger text box for chapter name.
  • Feature change: Deleting a chapter now autoselects next chapter in list.
  • New feature: An additional button allows regular chapter stops to be inserted BETWEEN existing chapters. Eg, if "Chapter One" exists at 11:53 and "Chapter Two" at 54:21, this button will insert "Part 01", "Part 02" etc at intervals between these two times.
