- New and Improved Reading Features:
- Save as Video: Save your text to a video file. Includes advanced options to customise the background and border colours of your video file.
- PDF Reader: Open PDF files as HTML pages, save them or play them back with EasyTutor
- Screen Ruler: With EasyTutor's Screen Ruler, you can magnify the line of text you are reading making documents and web pages that little bit easier to access
- Colour Scheme Screen-tinter: This simple overlay enables users to add their preferred colour scheme to the on-screen content.
- Extra Control when reading:
- Echo when cursoring: EasyTutor now allows you to navigate through different lines and words in text boxes as well as in Microsoft Word
- Pause between sentences: this option allows EasyTutor to pause after each sentence
- Mouse hover: this option enables EasyTutor to read any item under the mouse
- Navigate by paragraph: Pressing control and cursor up or down now lets you navigate by paragraphs
- Focus Sentence Highlighting: EasyTutor now enables users to grey out sentences in MS Word which are not being spoken by the EasyTutor voice. This is an extremely useful feature to assist users to focus on the highlighted text.
- Word Trail highlighting: EasyTutor enables the user to highlight text progressively as it is being spoken, allowing the text to be followed with absolute ease.
- New fonts to improve readability: EasyTutor now includes the Tiresias family of fonts; developed specifically to optimise accessibility and usability.
- New and Improved Writing Features:
- Spellcheck dialogue improvements: EasyTutor's Spellcheck now provides extra definitions, the context for the current spelling, and a Google search link within the improved Spellcheck window.
- Spellcheck function improvements: EasyTutor's Spellcheck now enables users to ignore all homophones, and make corrections from within the spellcheck dialogue. Phonetic misspellings are also now identified within the EasyTutor spellcheck dialogue.
- Spelling Tutor: Any spelling errors made are now remembered by EasyTutor's Spelling Tutor. This allows the user to build their own personal corrections list. These corrections can then be added to MS Word's Autocorrections list.
- New and Improved Additional Features:
- Brand New icons: The EasyTutor version 8 toolbar now includes brand new icons, offering a modern look and feel to the EasyTutor toolbar.
- All New Toolbar Colour Skins: You can further personalise the look and feel of the EasyTutor toolbar, with three brand new Skins to choose from.
- Built-in EasyReader: Version 8 of EasyTutor now comes with the most recent language release of EasyReader, allowing you to access Talking Books content with ease.
- Scanning engine upgraded to Omnipage 16: EasyTutor version 8 now uses the updated Omnipage 16 engine, which gives you faster and more accurate scanning, including a rich new Preview function.
