  • When editing a repeated action, click "Update Template" to push some of the changes from the item to its template. The following attributes will be updated on the template action:
  • Title
  • Description
  • Tags
  • Any checklist line items that appear in the description will be unchecked when updating the template.
  • Clicking this new button will only affect the template action and won't modify the item itself. To update the repeated action, just press Save as usual.

  • This update contains some changes that require that you update all devices at the same time. Specifically, you should:
  • Update the desktop app to 1.3.0+
  • Update the Android app to 0.99.8+ via Google Play

  • Nothing bad will happen if some devices don't get updated, but it may cause duplication of repeated actions. The duplication can be cleared by simply removing the extra actions.

  • Encrypted Sync Service (ESS):
  • Encrypted sync is a new way to sync data across your devices running Everdo. The main benefit of ESS over the standard network sync is that it works seamlessly over the Internet. It means that devices don't have to be on the same network anymore. Each device is still fully autonomous and maintains it's own offline copy of data, but they also send encrypted updates to the ESS server, which makes it possible for multiple devices to share changes in the background.
  • While providing convenience, ESS also addresses privacy concerns. Before being sent to ESS, the data gets encrypted with a 256-bit key, so the server never receives the data in a readable form 1. To make it possible for your devices to work with encrypted data, you will need to setup each device with the same encryption key. ESS can't do this for you, because it should not have access to your encryption key by design.

  • It's now possible to specify how many days of archived items you would like Everdo to load. This can significantly improve app performance and responsiveness. For example, if you set this setting to 30, Everdo will only load archived items completed within the last 30 days. Note that this setting doesn't affect how Everdo stores the items. All data will still be preserved regardless of this setting
  • Hotkeys For "All Areas" And "Unassigned":
  • If you use areas a lot, you will love the ability to switch to "All" and "Unassigned" instantly: press Shift+0 for "All Areas", press Shift+9 for "Unassigned". In the near future we want to add the option to configure a Shift+number hotkey for each area tag!
  • Ctrl+Enter Behavior in Tag Selector Drop-Down:
  • Pressing Ctrl+Enter while adding tags will no longer add an extra tag before closing the editor. It will still add the tag if it is new (has just been typed in).
  • Delete Tutorial Items:
  • Delete tutorial items with a single click. The button is only visible on the first Everdo run, when tutorial gets created.
