Now you can spend less on hardware and increase your VM density by up to 30% while freeing up valuable operational resources.
  • To remain competitive and keep your customers satisfied, businesses today must run 24/7. It is essential to avoid downtime for your virtual machines and applications. It is no longer acceptable to simply receive an alert when your utilization achieves the capacity limit. Now, it is imperative that you have a solution that can provide complete visibility and proactively recommend the future actions to maintain service availability and avoid failures. 5nine Manager v9 collects data from the main performance indicators for the hosts and virtual machines, including CPU, memory, disk, network usage. It uses these values for analysis and future performance predictions to provide suggestions for optimal resource utilization. It identifies the resources that are currently under pressure and the ones that might become overused in the future, helping administrators to proactively make changes in their existing hardware, or to plan for new procurements ahead of time. Now you can eliminate the manual calculation and predictions when planning, optimizing and supporting diverse virtual environments!
  • With the new 5nine Manager v9 you are getting real-time disk monitoring that allows you to continuously observe your used and available storage capacity. It immediately notifies you when the disk space is running low to ensure your VMs have the resources they need. With the new virtual disk monitoring option, you can stay confident that your virtual machines will continue to work and you will get notified in advance before your VMs become paused or crash.

New in 5nine Manager 8.0 (Mar 2, 2016)

  • Nowadays businesses need to run 24/7 to keep their customers satisfied and remain competitive, so avoiding any downtime for virtual machines and applications has become essential. Hyper-V uses Windows Server Failover Clustering to provide high availability for VMs, however the native tools to configure a cluster are spread across several consoles, making basic cluster configuration unnecessarily complicated. 5nine Manger v8 allows you to test, deploy and configure a Failover Cluster from 5nine Manager without launching additional software and thus eliminating extra complexity. A best practice analyzer is built directly into 5nine Manager to validate that your hardware and software configuration is compatible with failover clustering and will be supported by Microsoft. Eliminate the legacy approach of console-hopping with in-box tools and manage all your Hyper-V hosts, Failover Clusters and VMs in one place!
  • Predict your system performance and prevent operational downtime with 5nine Manager v8. You can now generate resource utilization trends based on historical data, allowing you to identify unusual activity even before it reaches a custom alerting threshold. In order to prevent a host from becoming overloaded, you can now get instant email notifications if your system’s stability becomes compromised. In addition to predicting your future utilization, you can also analyze on your historical performance data to report on the health of your virtualized infrastructure. You can see where your resource usage is increasing or decreasing in a convenient graphical format directly through the 5nine Manager interface. Stay assured that your system performance is under your control even more than before!
  • As your infrastructure grows, it becomes increasingly important to scale your backend database, so 5nine Manager v8 will support Microsoft SQL Server 2012 upwards. Instead of utilizing the native SQL Light database as a primary data store, you can use Microsoft SQL Server, and take advantage of its enterprise features, such as clustering and reporting services. Now you can collect vast amounts of data for large datacenters with extended retention policies to track your historical data and analyze it through SQL.
  • DEPLOY, CONFIGURE AND OPTIMIZE A HYPER-V CLUSTER
  • MONITOR FUTURE AND HISTORICAL TRENDS AT THE VM AND HOST LEVEL
  • MICROSOFT SQL SERVER SUPPORT
  • WHAT’S NEW
  • 5nine Manager is the most cost-efficient management and monitoring solution for Hyper-V. It provides many of the features of System Center Virtual Machine Manager without requiring a dedicated management infrastructure. 5nine Manager makes evaluating, learning, or transitioning to Hyper-V much easier with a design similar to VMware vCenter. Now Hyper-V administrators can get the enterprise features they need without adding the complexity to their datacenter. 5nine Manager v8 helps you streamline your work and save time on day-to-day Hyper-V administration by simplifying cluster configuration and management. 5nine Manager with Antivirus now offers brand-new ways of detecting and removing viruses and malware to enhance Hyper-V security!
  • What's new:
  • CUSTOMIZED ALARM NOTIFICATIONS BASED ON HYPER-V AND CLUSTER EVENTS
  • 5nine Manager v8 gives you the capability to preconfigure and customize which notifications are the most important to you. It aggregates all events for Hyper-V and Failover Clustering into the console, and recognizes your critical ones to immediately alert you about their occurrence. To silence noisy or recurring alerts, you can also disable specific notifications.
  • 5nine Manager with Antivirus already has the fastest security scans in the industry with its patent-pending technologies. Now you can gain even more precise control over the performance of your system by designating a maximum number of simultaneous AV scans. 5nine Manager with Antivirus controls how many scans will be performed on your virtual hard disks in order to prevent your hosts from CPU or storage I/O bottlenecks.
  • 5nine centralized antivirus management by having to update virus definitions only on the Hyper-V host, without having to update any of the VMs. Although this solution improves security, the hosts must update their signature database, which can be risky if this is done through an external network. If you have strong privacy or compliance needs, now 5nine Manager with Kaspersky Antivirus offers a centralized approach for updating security signatures for your entire Hyper-V infrastructure. You can keep your hosts off of public networks, and store your virus definitions on a management server proxy that centrally distributes the updates to the Hyper-V hosts.
  • When malware is detected on your host, 5nine will remotely quarantine the file to ensure that the virus is not launched. Unless you have permission to log into the VM and direct access to the VM’s file system, Hyper-V requires a reboot of the virtual machine to remove these files, which causes service downtime. Now 5nine has introduced a Lightweight Agent that can be added to mission-critical VMs, enabling threat removal without a reboot and without giving users access to your files. Now you now can be assured that detected viruses will be automatically removed without system downtime and without interfering with VM operations.
