- Based on a number of NOAA's S102 files it appeared that they were using an extra H5 element in the Group_XXX element. This prevented the Viewer from correctly displaying the S102 data. This was caused by an assumption that the first element in the Group_XXX element is always the Values dataset. This assumption was apparently wrong. The change is now that the program looks for the element that is named 'values' and using that to render.

New in S1XViewer 2.2.1 (Aug 17, 2023)
- Multiple bugfixes and changes made to the exchangeset implementation as is specified by IHO's S100 V5. If there's a previous version of the viewer installer its best to manually uninstall that version first before installing this version!
New in S1XViewer 2.2.0 (Aug 2, 2023)
- Added S104 DCF1 and DCF3 support to the viewer. S111 DCF2 support now also recognises the ScanDirection attribute and reads the input 2D array accordingly. Next various smaller bugfixes have been applied to this version (waterlevel and surfacecurrent meta information retrieval), feature selection for DCF8 S111 files should now work correctly, ARCGIS dependencies updated to latest version).
- A choice has been made to not only offer the MSI version of the installer but also the SETUP.EXE. For this reason there is now a ZIP file containing both the MSI and EXE version of the installer. There however still is an issue with the installer in regards to the existence of older version of the viewer. To get the best results its better to manually uninstall the previous version before installing this newer version!
New in S1XViewer 2.1.1 (Jul 18, 2023)
- V2.1.1 contains a number of fixes for potential issues and adds S104 DCF2 support. Limited testing however has been done only based on the NLHO's sample data.
New in S1XViewer 2.1 (Jun 29, 2023)
- The 2.1 release adds preliminary S104 DCF8 support. Because of data availability it has been limited tested primarily with S104 DCF8 data from the Netherlands Hydrographic Office. Next a few S111 DCF2, 3 and 8 bugs fixes have been added in this release. Last there was an issue with the geometry renderer that sometimes caused tidal stream vector to not be rendered. This was caused by an invalid locking strategy in the multithreaded support by the geo-renderer.
New in S1XViewer 2.0.4 (May 18, 2023)
- In this version any user selection in the featurelist, the bottom left treeview, results in the highlighting of this selected feature making it easier to see which feature its metadata is being shown. There's also a new section in the ribbonbar called Find. This lets the user query features based on the Id or the Name. Features that are found are highlighted in the map.
New in S1XViewer 2.0.2 (May 3, 2023)
- Bugfix in link resolution which leads to a lockup of reading an S122 or S123 file.
New in S1XViewer 2.0.1 (Apr 24, 2023)
- This is the 2.0 version of the S1XViewer. Compared to prerelease 9 it contains bugfixes and it adds the ability to query individual cell (sounding) values of S102 products. It is dubbed as 2.0.1 to remove earlier prerelease versions.
New in S1XViewer 2.0 Pre-release 9 (Apr 22, 2023)
- Prerelease 9 contains bugfixes, adds internal consistency checks for the S111 files and adds support for S111 DCF1 and DCF4. This makes the S111 implementation complete over all datacoding formats. It is compliant with version 1.1 and 1.2 of the S111 standard.
New in S1XViewer 2.0 Pre-release 8 (Apr 18, 2023)
- Bugfixes and S102 change. Where previously all datacells were rendered as features now the ArcGIS RasterLayer is being used for that. This speeds up rendering quite considerably. It is currently not possible to query individual soundings but that will be added in a later version.
New in S1XViewer 2.0 Pre-release 7 (Apr 16, 2023)
- Release contains enhancements for when viewing multiple S102 files simultaneously. It has the option, next to opening a file, adding a file without resetting the view. For this some UI changes have been made to have the ability to open and add files and being able to reset the view. The Clear Layers button now removes all layers from memory. Finally there's an option to reset the color scheme without having to manually specify a new file open.
