What's new in IDimager Personal Edition 5.1.1.8

Nov 15, 2011
  • Compliant with Windows 7
  • IDimager is now fully compliant with Windows 7, both 32 and 64 bit editions. Of course, it will continue to work on Windows Vista and XP 32 and 64 bit systems as well.
  • Face labeling
  • The new face labeling module will speed up the process of identifying people in your images. Just select the images in which you would like to scan for faces and click the Search button. The faces that are found will be outlined within the images and also shown as thumbs in a sortable list. You can then use the standard "quick assign" labeling function to simply name either a single face or a group of faces.
  • Label Assignment Panel
  • The new Label Assignment Panel makes cataloging a breeze. Labels for selected images are immediately visible in the panel as active buttons. From there you can add, remove, or edit labels with just one or two mouse clicks or by using the keyboard. To further speed up your workflow, you can create your own label sets with combinations of labels you frequently use, and you can choose to assign keyboard shortcuts to these sets to assign multiple labels with one keystroke.
  • Speech labeling
  • IDimager V5 is the first DAM tool to introduce speech labeling. With a microphone or headset attached to your computer, you can label images using voice-controlled commands. Simply say the magic word 'START', speak the labels you would like to assign, and then assign the labels by saying 'ASSIGN'. It's as simple as that. You can also use speech commands for navigating through your collection, selecting images, and unassigning labels.
  • Speech labeling: another innovation that will help you catalog your images faster.
  • Intuitive printing module
  • The new printing module provides a great way of showing off your photos. Create beautiful print layouts and store them in one of the many supported image formats.
  • Start from one of the built-in templates or create your own. Drag and drop your images, rotate them, add captions and borders, and more by simply clicking the mouse.
  • Non-destructive editing
  • IDimager V5 supports non-destructive editing, providing capabilities that are typically only found in high-end image editors. But because IDimager's powerful editing functions are fully integrated into the main application, you can streamline your workflow while making your images look the best that they can be. And you can even edit your pictures while your images are off-line.
  • IDimager refers to a specific combination of image edit instructions as a recipe. This recipe will in no way corrupt or modify your original image bitmap; rather, the recipe is embedded as metadata within your image file. Once you have defined a recipe, you can copy/paste or stamp recipes to other images to avoid any repetitive editing tasks. And if you are not satisfied with the result later on, simply change your recipe to modify the image.
  • Redesigned Downloader
  • IDimager V5 is quite possibly the most advanced image downloader in the market today. But even more importantly, it is fully integrated with the rest of the application, so once you download your images, much of your cataloging work has already been done for you! IDimager’s downloader is a very user-friendly and flexible tool that allows you to organize your images exactly the way you want them to be.
  • Have a look at IDdownloader, a standalone version of IDimager's downloader, to see some of the download features that are available to you.
  • User friendly metadata editing
  • One of the IDimager's greatest strengths has always been its handling of image metadata. With IDimager V5 we have taken the existing metadata functionality, added in some new capabilities, and then wrapped all this power into an attractive new package!
  • New in IDimager V5, you can now store your image details to reusable profiles, and you now have the option to quickly select what you do and do not want to see in the Image Details panel. And if you work with multiple languages, you can also easily add your translations to individual description fields.
  • Enhanced GPS panel
  • IDimager takes GPS- and geo-location editing seriously, and IDimager V5 features a completely redesigned GPS panel that provides much tighter integration with the rest of the application. You can use the GPS panel to assign geo-location data to any image or label in your IDimager catalog. In addition to being able to assign latitude and longitude coordinates, you can assign altitude and place descriptions either manually or automatically from the internet.
  • GPS panel also supports track logging devices, which provide an ideal way for the user to accurately supply geo-location data for a large number of images.
