AX64 Time Machine, one of the newest backup and recovery applications on the market, went through quite a few modifications this week, with the latest update being delivered just yesterday.

The fresh build (1.2.1096) does not introduce any new features, but it does away with a critical bug that tampered with the backup merging module and corrupted the resulting safe copies.

The previous update dealt with more glitches, a crash of the backup browser being among them.

Compared to the version we reviewed the application now supports GPT/UEFI, includes options for restoring the system hidden partition, MSR, EFI, or recovery partitions. It carries out the backup merging operation when the user is idle and occurs with a five-minute delay after system boot.
