Version 12.10.05 of PowerArchiver 2011 is the first update for the application in 2012. This build improves the program through a number of small changes as well as tweaks and fixes.

First on the list is newly added support for IMG files in the shell, burner and virtual drive. The look and feel of the application has also been modified to reflect a more modern ribbon interface.

As far as compression goes, the developer made changes to the engines in order to improve support for a set of file formats that includes ISO, RAR and 7Z. There is better support for AES encrypted ZIPs (compatibility with older versions of PowerArchiver (reviewed here) as well as files larger than 4 GB).

PowerArchiver 12.10.05 brings to the table an updated FTP engine (faster SFTP operations) and burner (more devices supported).
